New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 08, 2021) follows:

As of January 2021, we can effectively say Xiaomi’s Android One-powered Mi A series is dead and gone.

Going by the usual cycle, the Mi A4 should be out by now . Instead, 2019’s Mi A3 is still the latest offering in the Mi A series, yet we all know it isn’t the newest phone by any means.

Of course, we don’t make the rules and cant for sure tell you whether Xiaomi still has plans to launch a newer device in the Mi A lineup. But until then, lets talk about the Mi A3 and the recent Android 11 update.

Mi A3 owners must be aware of what went down with Xiaomi’s little gift for the New Year 2021. Right on the death of last year came an update to Android 11, but early Mi A3 adopters ended up with bricked devices.

Xiaomi was quick to spring into action, halting the rollout soon after reports started flooding in. This was reminiscent of what happened with previous Android updates for the Mi A3 and others in the Mi A series.

Xiaomi has since resumed rolling out the Mi A3 Android 11 update after doing away with the bug that was bricking devices, but this hasn’t cured the firmware from all ailments.

Now that more Mi A3 users are getting their hands on the OS, we are beginning to see reports coming from various corners of the web citing multiple issues after the update to Android 11.
