Few phones manage to check almost all the right boxes whilst maintaining an extremely reasonable cost at the same time. And the Redmi Note 9 Pro Global which is claimed by Xiaomi to be “flagship-inspired” lives up to the claim.

The device is quite a performer with its Snapdragon 720G processor and a great shooter too, thanks to a quad array of cameras with the primary sensor capable of capturing detailed images at 64 MP resolution.

In other words, the Redmi Note 9 Pro’s ridiculously low price tag may be deceptive, but the device’s specsheet scream that it isn’t the kind to be taken lightly.

That said, as you may already be aware, there has been plenty of speculation doing rounds regarding the release date for the Android 11 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

A forum moderator had previously stated that the Redmi Note 9 Pro should receive the update in early 2021. The information did not hold much value though as it was pretty obvious.

After all, there have been plenty of Xiaomi devices that have already bagged the Android 11 update last month like the Poco X2 and the Mi 10 Pro. If anything, the Redmi Note 9 Pro was only next in line.

However, the same moderator has now given out a more precise date for the update.

As it stands, the phone is set to bag Android 11 this month itself. Keep in mind though that the update will be a “beta stable” initially and will be rolled out to select users only.

Following a short testing period, it will then be rolled out in batches for everyone else around the globe. All this comes while the Note 9 Pro’s little sibling — the Redmi Note 9S — has already bagged the update.

And just like the Redmi Note 9S, the Note 9 Pro will also most likely receive the Android 11 update based on MIUI 12. However, if interested in MIUI 12.5, then you will be pleased to know that Xiaomi is recruiting pilot testers for the same.
