[Update: MIUI 12 released] Xiaomi Redmi 7A Android 10 update (stable) rolling out, no MIUI 12 (Download link inside)

This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (from June 05, 2020) follows:

A number of devices from various OEMs that were eligible for an update to Android 10 but hadn’t received the update are continuing to bag the much-awaited update even as development of Android 11 nears finalization.

One such device that has been on the update list for Xiaomi for a while but hadn’t quite gotten updated yet is the Xiaomi Redmi 7A. The Xiaomi Redmi 7A was first announced back in May 2019 and it features a 5.45″ IPS LCD display, Snapdragon 439 chipset, 4000 mAh battery, and storage starts at 32 GB.

Redmi 7A

Well, rejoice Redmi 7A users as Android 10 has finally dropped for your devices. Your long wait is finally coming to a close. A section of Redmi 7A users have reported receiving an OTA that brings with it Stable MIUI 11 based on Android 10.

From the changelog, it is clear that the Android 10 doesn’t bring too many new features to this device.

– Updated Android Security Patch to May 2020. Increased system security.
– Stable MIUI based on Android 10

See, Xiaomi handles its updates a little differently. Unlike other OEMs who bundle all new features with new builds of Android, Xiaomi does that with MIUI versions. Meaning, MIUI 11 based on Android 9 and MIUI 11 based on Android 10 will be a lot similar. However, MIUI 11 on Android 10 and MIUI 12 based on Android 10 will look completely different.

The Android 10 update for Redmi 7A is rolling out to more and more devices as Xiaomi likes rolling out these updates in phases. As such, it might be wise to wait for the OTA to hit your device. However, if you want to install it for yourself, below is the update firmware for you to manually flash onto your device.
