After staying away from flagship space for a couple of years, Motorola returned to the scene with the launch of the Motorola Edge+.

While initial impressions were mostly solid, the phone’s $999 price tag didn’t sit well with most potential buyers considering Motorola was competing with Samsung and Apple by charging one grand for the phone.

Adding to that, some of those who purchased the device quickly noticed a major flaw with the display and so the Edge+ started doing rounds on the internet again but for the wrong reasons.

That said, Motorola is now gearing up to release Android 11 to all eligible devices. Since the Motorola Edge+ launched with Android 10 pre-installed, it was but obvious that it will bag the update to Android 11.

Moreover, considering its flagship status, it’s more than likely that we’ll see the company push the new Android version for the Motorola Edge+ before its mid-range offerings.

And well, it appears that might indeed be the case since the Motorola Edge+ running on Android 11 has recently been certified by Wi-Fi Alliance, first spotted by GoAndroid.

We’ve shared a screenshot of the certification below for reference. This shows the Motorola Edge+ with the model number XT2061-1 running on the latest Android version.

Given that the device has now been certified at Wi-Fi Alliance running on Android 11, it shouldn’t be considered as going too far to speculate that Motorola may begin seeding the update in the following weeks.

Unfortunately, the company has not divulged any specific details regarding the availability of Android 11 for any device.

This means that we will simply have to wait and see when the Android 11 update goes live for the Motorola Edge+.

As usual, we will post an update if and when there are any new developments regarding the availability of the latest Android version for the device.

In the meantime, we’d suggest keeping a close eye on our dedicated tracker to know the status of Android 11 for all eligible devices from Motorola.
