MIUI 12.5 beta update adds magic clone freeze frame camera mode; brightness slider now appears below Control Center

MIUI has to be one of the most actively developed Android skins ever. The heavily customized skin from Xiaomi is no slack when it comes to the list of unique features. And the Chinese company sure does seem adamant about keeping it that way.

Users that are on the beta builds must already be acquainted with the fact that MIUI receives feature additions and UI tweaks with almost every weekly update.

And moving forward to closed beta version 21.1.15, Xiaomi has done it once more. The China-only MIUI 12.5 beta build has added a couple of more features that no one asked for but are great to have nonetheless.

Firstly, there’s a brand new addition to the MIUI Camera called “magic clone freeze frame mode.” The name may not convey much but what the feature does is help create several copies of a person or an object that merge into one as the video progresses.

Still not clear? Well, in that case, it would be better for you to watch the video demonstration given below.

Pretty slick, to be honest. But that’s not all. The update also brings about a slight tweak to the quick toggles or “control center” as Xiaomi likes to call it.

Previously, the brightness slider used to scroll out of view when the quick settings used to get expanded. MIUI beta version 21.1.15 changes this behavior though by making the slider stick to the bottom even when the toggles are expanded.

As a result, the brightness bar is way more accessible and makes its one-handed usage a tad easier than before. Again, for clarity, just check the image given below.

These changes should be rolled out with the next weekly MIUI 12.5 beta for your device if you are already a part of the program.
