It won’t be until spring 2021 that we get to see the OnePlus 9, the first successor to the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8T handsets released in 2020.

But as usual, leaks of what to expect when OnePlus unveils its 2021 flagship are already doing rounds, giving up pretty much all the basic stuff such as design, specs, and even the software version.

As per reports published by Phone Arena, the OnePlus 9 will stick to the OnePlus 8T flat screen design instead of the OnePlus 8 Pro curved edges.

With the Snapdragon 888 SoC on board, you can for sure expect OnePlus 9 to support 5G. The device will also come pre-installed with OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11, perhaps with a few touches here and there.

Indeed, it looks like a promising device, you know, just like any other OnePlus device pre-launch. But until it gets here, there is the OnePlus 8T that still needs the company’s attention, which is in plenty.

Since launch, the device has picked up several software updates and while the most recent OxygenOS 11 update came out past mid-November, there were no changes to the security patch level.

This, however, is about to change in the coming days, at least if the latest developments in China are anything to go by. Back at home, OnePlus is seeding a new HydrogenOS 11 update to the 8T.

As per the release notes, the firmware not only brings the slightly older November security update for OnePlus 8T users, but it also tags along a bunch of bug-fixes, optimizations and performance improvements.

There is no known date that the global OnePlus 8T will receive this same November security update, but with the software now live in China, it is only a matter of time.

As usual, we will keep an eye on this story and let you know when a newer OxygenOS 11 update hits your device. Hopefully, the update will address some of the annoying bugs and issues 8T users are facing.
